I'm Dana LaPointe, your yoga teacher.  I first stepped on a yoga mat at 3 years old at 4 am on PBS with, "Lilias, Yoga & You," on PBS.

I spent many years trying to find yoga studios that felt like being on the mat with Lilias, but I never found that first hit again, until I was assigned to teach Restorative Yoga in my 200 YTT, which was pioneered by Judith Hanson Lasater and is a form of Hatha yoga practice.  She learned directly from BKS Iyengar and so did Lilias Folan.  The teaching style and yoga style of Judith Lasater just felt like home and I haven't looked back since.

I'm a certified yoga teacher and restorative yoga teacher by Judith Hanson Lasater, as a Relax and Renew™ level 1 teacher.  I continue to study anything of hers I can get my hands on because what she teaches resonates so deeply with me.  She has said she is just a vessel pouring the water into other vessels so that we may pour into more vessels. That is what my intention is when I teach - to pour water from the vessel that came before me into the one that comes after me.

I practice yoga because it's always called to me and because it's showed up in my life over and over - including recommendations by physicians to help with my autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's, and my very type A personality.

I teach yoga because it's the most loving thing you can give to yourself - and I want others to learn how to be present in the moment without judgment or a need for things to change.  I want to teach others how to truly rest.  I want others to know how to fully breathe.

Most of us go-go-go and do-do-do, and our monkey minds never stop.  The hardest pose is the pose that requires you to give yourself rest in mind and body.  Be still for 20 minutes.  Don't know how?  I'll teach you.  If you don't think you have time or don't think you can do it, you need it more than you know.

I'm growing a lavender farm where I can teach outdoors. I am a retired lawyer who chose to be home with my two daughters taking care of the family and home my husband and I share and have created together.

I did the things.  I won the awards.  I got the good grades and certifications. As Judith likes to say, "I know you can do more, but can you do less?"

I'd love to have you join me to learn to do less.
